URGIFY gets accepted into IBM Hyper Protect Accelerator
We are incredibly excited to announce that URGIFY has been nominated by IBM Hyper Protect Accelerator as one of their 30 new Fintech, Healthtech, Insurtech startups for Cohorts 2 & 3. The announcement has been made by Melissa Sassi, IBM’s Chief Penguin of the Hyper Protect Accelerator during IBM Z Day – a live, virtual event sponsored by the IBM Z Ecosystem team.
Urgify is a new health fintech product developed by IDEACTION. We make collecting hefty medical bills easier for Hospitals and less stressful for patients in the USA (and other markets) where consumers spend lots of money in emergency situations without having insurance. Once we are successful, hospitals will be able to send a special invoice to their patients. This allows the patient to invite loved ones to help them pay their medical bills: some now, the rest later so patients and their families aren’t crippled with large medical bills.
In order to get into the IBM Hyper Protect Accelerator, our team produced an intuitive and convincing pitch deck that did the job of grabbing the investors’ attention and helped them believe in our idea. Getting into IBM Cloud Hyper Protect Accelerator has been a challenging, yet valuable experience.

Starting off November 2020, all the nominated startups will be able to attend the Business and Technical workshops on design, investment readiness, pitch refinement, go to market strategy and execution and marketing collaboration, all exclusively created for early-stage startups, and conducted by IBM mentors, coaches, advisers. Moreover, the finalists will receive up to $120,000 in IBM Cloud credits, virtual mentorship that consists of monthly one-on-one engagement and quarterly all-hands with IBM engineers and architects over a two-year period.
Additionally, the cohort will have access to IBM’s network of stakeholders, GTM Collaboration, Co-marketing, and Events, alongside with solutions such as IBM Cloud Hyper Protect Services, that will definitely enable them to drive innovation and scale their companies with solutions designed to keep their sensitive data protected. IBM Hyper Protect Accelerator, powered by IBM LinuxONE is a program aimed to help startups in fintech and health tech industries to get technical and business support, connections to Queen City Fintech’s 300 business mentors, as well as design assistance and curated curriculum specifically designed for startups. The first Cohort of the Program was launched in June 2019 and 15 startups from 8 countries were enrolled in the program. This year, the IBM Hyper Protect Accelerator is working with 30 early-stage fintech, health tech, and insurtech startups that handle highly sensitive data to enhance their data security with Hyper Protect services.
Although it was another challenge for us, we have been successful in helping other startups to be accepted into this prestigious program.
